Goals & Objectives
Training:
Develop a common pool of resources for the well being of the beneficiaries
Organize seminars and workshops at both country and regional levels for capacity building to narrow digital divide
Build a pool of knowledge available to those who are at the wrong side of digital divide
Advocacy:
Build bridges between developed and developing countries to narrow digital divide
Provide a global platform for the exchange of ideas and experience to tackle digital divide
Make the alliance grow by increasing the number from all UN member countries
Research:
Research, documentation, campaigning and evangelism for narrowing digital divide
Thematic Areas:
The Global Alliance for Bridging the Digital Divide is structured around thematic areas such as:
Promoting equal access: ICT, its applications, infrastructure and services
Enhancing human capacity and empowerment: women, youth, indigenous communities
Promoting appropriate and useful content and knowledge sharing tools: international best practices, e-content etc
Designing awareness campaigns and project partnerships: opportunities for partnerships in support the use of multimedia and ICT to achieve the MDGs |
