Under the plenary metting of United Nations' World Sumit Award Content & Creativity, the selected 36 eminent experts from 36 countrys from all across the world, gathered in Dubai in October 2003 to choose the best e-Content practices from more than 800 nominations from 136 countries.
As the gathering of 36 countries' e-content experts offered the best of networking opportunity, few side meetings became the conceiving bed for the formation of the GABDD.
Initiated by the Internet Professionals Association of Hong Kong, The People's Republic of China, GABDD was found at october 2003 by and in association of 22 organizations from North America, Australia and New Zealand, Africa, Europe, South and Latin America, Middle East and Asia.
The GABDD is dedicated to leveraging the strenght and expertise from various countries to tackle the digital divide, especially in the developing countries, guided by the United Nations Millenium Development Goals (MDGS).
